NOW HIRING
Grants Manager

Women’s Project is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to producing and promoting theater written and directed by women. Founded in 1978, Women’s Project continues to create opportunities for women in a field where they are conspicuously under-represented. During its 35 years, Women’s Project has produced over 600 main stage productions and developmental projects, and published eleven anthologies of plays by women. Women’s Project mentors talented artists through its Lab for directors, playwrights, and producers.

Under the supervision of the Producing Artistic Director, the Grants Manager works to maintain and expand WP’s charitable partnerships with institutional donors—including foundations, corporations, and governmental agencies —and assists with fundraising across platforms. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of grant administration, including maintaining the grants calendar; writing grant proposals, status reports, and letters of inquiry; tracking campaign results; and providing follow-up.
  • Research donor prospects, facilitate meetings between prospects and WP’s leadership, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Create letters of acknowledgement and other necessary communications for donors across platforms (institutional, individuals, special events, etc.).
  • Assist in the identification and pursuit of sponsorship and underwriting opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate and efficient database of donors and prospects.
  • Provide an accurate donor list for programs and promotional materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of fundraising reports as needed for the Board of Directors, Cultural Data Project (CDP), Annual Meeting, etc.
  • Assist with WP’s fundraising activities across platforms when required and as may be reasonably assigned.

Candidates should have a demonstrable interest in the mission of Women’s Project; excellent verbal and presentation skills; computer fluency in MS Office and Filemaker Pro (or similar database software); and at least 2-3 years experience in revenue generation in a culturally-oriented NPO. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Salary package is competitive.

To apply, send cover letter, resume, a grant writing sample and three professional references to info@womensproject.org or fax to#212.765.2024. Email attachments must be in PDF format or they will not be opened. No phone calls please. Women’s Project is an equal opportunity employer.
